Grains is the first non-profit hospitality school that integrates Displaced People into new communities and secures their employment.
Launched in Ukraine with the aim to empower Displaced People globally in the future.Empowering IDPs
Millions of Ukrainians had to relocate from the dangerous areas, but stayed within the country. Finding a well-paid job is one of the first priorities of starting a new life from scratch in a new place of living.
The Ukrainian Hospitality Industry grows on average
15% yearly amidst the war
The concentration of people in the most protected cities created a lot of demand for hospitality businesses. People keep creating new businesses to support the economy, but finding skilled labor remains the main issue. There is a severe staff shortage due to the recent pandemics, martial state, and the outflow of skilled labor.
The hospitality industry is an essential contributor to the Ukrainian economy. Grains was created to support people in need, the hospitality industry, and the Ukrainian economy as a whole.
Grains is a collective project that unites the expertise of tech and hospitality professionals from the European Union and Ukraine. It was founded in 2023 by SHELEST Hotel and Madina Katter as part of their social mission to empower the people affected by the war and create a solution that solves the migration crisis.
Grains app is meant to become a tool that helps Displaced People globally to integrate into a new place of living and find a well-paid job.
We will do that by creating a solution that connects government institutions, displaced people and hospitality players and tackles their issues.Apart from grants and individual donations, the school is largely funded by:
